False friends is an application for those who love languages and learning through play. It presents users with pairs of words in two languages that are similar but have different meanings in these languages: the well-known false friends that often confuse language learners. The languages that are addressed are Catalan, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Romanian.

The challenge is to demonstrate that users can understand the meaning of false friends between Romance languages without any type of translation aids. How? By taking advantage of the extensive opportunities for intercomprehension between Romance languages and using strategies for understanding another language. 

After five minutes of playing with False friends, the user will discover that they can read languages that they previously considered unknown and that, as if by magic, false friends can now be distinguished.

Level

Goals
practise, through games, the methodology of intercomprehension between Romance languages (Catalan, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Romanian) to identify different meanings of similar words in two languages: the popular 'false friends'.
